Thanks a Bunch

I haven't kept up with blogging.. on this one or my other blogs.

I've actually been having some difficult time getting started with projects... I want to be in so many directions that I overwhelmed myself with too many ideas and no work accomplished.

And so, I gave myself the opportunity to do something I enjoy: make a card...

This image is from Unky's August freebie release and it's been a great pleasure to color this lovely summery image.

Just a very simple colored card along with a few paper distressing and light inking on the sentiment. Until next time!

Anniversary layout for my Mister.

It's been awhile since I last posted my work.. My hobby time is getting smaller and smaller as things happen in life and there's still work to be done and savings for retirement long way down the road.
But here's my latest make. I hope you enjoy!

I started with Unky's image from the east wind and coloured her beautiful image.. I've also picked up a few tricks from her videos she's been posting here.

Then I found a sentiment.. this one came to my head quickly as my Mister and I have a need to make each other laugh a lot.. so "love you long time" it is..  I used a type of text blocks (like legos) to form the sentiment.

Finished the layout with some cropping and coloring...

And framed it on a shadow box here!

Hope you like it. :D

Embossing (Dry) Challenge

The East Wind launched yet another great image this month and I had so much fun creating this piece for my neighbour who's an avid gardener.

When I first met her and her husband, I got a chance to see her garden and found out she was giving away some strawberry plants.  I gladly took some with me home and began planting.

A couple weeks ago, she gave us some roma tomatoes, a cantaloupe and some pepper plants.

So I decided to make this card for her.

I took a couple pictures to show the embossing and some of the supplies used.
I forgot to include a rad stamp roller I used as a background image on the card.
The "weeds" were cut using my laser cutter and I glued them down.

Quite the fun project.

Until next time and come say hi or subscribe for more inspiration.  I'm not an avid card maker but I sure like to collect tools and try out a new technique.

Mother's Day Challenge at TEW

It's been several months since I participated in Unky's challenges at http://theeastwind.com

This month's challenge using die cuts or punch, I decided to use my tag punch to create a gift tag.

Since Unky's digis could be resized easily, I was able to print 9 tags on one standard 8.5"x11" card stock and cor away using copic markers and coloring pencils.
I finished the tag with the tag punch and distressed it with chalk ink and some twine.

Hope you enjoy!

Unky's blog runs 2 challenges a month with freebies like this one every month.

And don't forget to call your mom!
